We have eaten at Jumpin Jays a few times. Our waiter was friendly but not attentive and did not know much about the seafood. He did not tell us the special fish of the day had been sold out for two hours, and that was our first choice. He did not know about the different oyster selections, or the different kinds of port that I wanted as an after dinner drink. He did know his wine, but I think you have to take time with your table and know a lot about seafood when you work in a higher end seafood restaurant. The special parsnip soup with the shrimp/bacon fritter was incredible! The clams and linguine was one of the worst I have ever eaten. They put 3 clams in their shell on the top of the dish and the rest was minced canned clams in a very strong and sweet onion/garlic cream sauce. Even our little Italian restauran,t in our home town ,gives you a dozen littlenecks in the shell and not minced clams. The Haddock piccata was okay. When the waiter appeared for the dessert option, I had to call him back to ask him about an after dinner drink. While we were starting our dessert he brought the check and told us to take our time. I think for the money you should never feel rushed and/or ignored at the same time. It was only 8:45 on a Saturday night so I don't know why he would have been in a rush. Finally, my daughter had stomach pains, etc. in the middle of the night and was fine in the morning. The only thing we didn't try equally was the raw tuna Poke. My daughter is 21 and has an extremely strong immune system so she was really surprised to have this happen.
